Google has a similar ecosystem to Apple. Its users have access to a variety of products for all their tech-related needs. The tech giant has kept evolving and released one innovative product after another. It started as a search engine and now has infiltrated even the smartphone market with its mid-range devices.
Google has revealed that it is working on a number of devices, including the Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro. However, we shall be focusing on the Google Pixel 6 Pro in this article.
Availability & Price
The Pixel lineup is usually unveiled in the second half of the year, usually in October. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will be released in the “fall,” although the company hasn’t given a specific date.
While when it comes to price, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, as well as the Pixel 4 and 4 XL, were all priced similarly to flagship smartphones. The Pixel 5 was, on the other hand, positioned as a mid-range device. It’s unclear what Google will do with pricing this year, but the Pixel 6 should be around the same price as the Pixel 5, with the Pixel 6 Pro being slightly more expensive.
Official photos of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro of the back have been released by Google, with the design corroborating multiple leaked models and demonstrating a significant divergence from prior Pixel devices. The Pixel 6 Pro will have a similar design to the Pixel 6, however, it will have three lenses on the back instead of two.
Tall, narrow protruding camera housing runs the length of the phone, separating two colors, and Google has stated that the 6 Pro will have a “light polished aluminum finish.”
In the photos, it’s exhibited in three color combinations: yellow and light orange, white and grey, and black and dark grey.
The device’s back is only visible in official photographs, while leaked renders show a punch-hole front camera centered at the top of the display. The screen is believed to be slightly curved at the corners, as evidenced by the official Google side pictures. It’s also believed to include a fingerprint sensor built into the display, which makes sense considering that the physical sensor is no longer present on the back. There are even speculations that the device might have an under-display front camera.
Reports circulating the internet reveal that the Google Pixel 6 Pro would have a 6.67-inch or 6.71-inch display, which would be slightly larger than the Pixel 5. It also has a larger display than the Pixel 4 XL, which has a 6.3-inch screen.
The Pixel 6 Pro is expected to have a Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, allowing it to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+, as well as the OnePlus 9 Pro, however, nothing has been verified as of yet.
The Google Pixel 6 Pro will include Tensor, the company’s system-on-chip – learn more about it here. The chip includes a new security core module and Titan M2, as well as being designed to perform all artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, including computational photography and real-time translation. It will be able to carry out functions such as file switch with no trouble.
According to other rumors, the Pro will include 12GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. A 5000mAh battery is also claimed to be included. Furthermore, the device will have 5G capability and have ultra-wideband technology.
A triple rear camera with a 4x optical telephoto lens will be included in the Pixel 6 Pro. There has been no further official information released, and rumors about the make-up have been mixed hence no concrete details on the camera front.
According to one rumor, the device will have a 50-megapixel main camera, an extremely wide-angle camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. A 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, according to another rumor. The front camera is believed to have a resolution of 12 megapixels.
The Google Pixel 6 Pro seems like an impressive device on paper. While much of the details regarding the device are unclear, we cannot say what the actual product will be like. Nevertheless, for now, we can say if the leaks are to be believed, it is sure to be a hit.
